Title
Freedom at What Cost : Youth in the Gig Economy
Abstract
Much bas been written about the gig economy in recent years, but what it means concretely for young workers remains ambigious for many. We begin this policy brief by exploring what is meant when we speak of this sector of the economy, as well as delving into its benefits and challenges. We then provide a testimonial from a Quebec-based DoorDash driver, and conclude with recommendations on how best to improve working conditions for young gig workers.
