This report shows the characteristics and trends related to official language minority (OLM) owned enterprises. OLM enterprises are those that are owned at 50% or more by Canadian individuals whose first official language spoken (FOLS) is the minority official language—French for enterprises in Canada outside Quebec and English for enterprises in Quebec. The report is based on data from the Business Linkable File Environment (B-LFE) and distinguishes two types of enterprises: employer enterprises (incorporated enterprises with more than one employee) and microenterprises (unincorporated enterprises and incorporated enterprises with one employee or less). Results are presented for the regions corresponding to each of Canada’s seven Regional Development Agencies.
