Notes

Richard Y. Bourhis examined why Quebec-born Francophone and Anglophone university undergraduates want to stay in Quebec or leave. Questionnaire results showed that Anglophones were more willing to leave Quebec than Francophones. Key push and pull factors included economic prospects, socio-affective pressures, and linguistic tensions, the latter being especially important among English-speaking Quebecers. The presentation was followed by commentary by Dr. Chedly Belkhodja and William Floch.
