Modernizing the Official Languages Act : The Views of Young Canadians
Abstract
On 6 April 2017, the Standing Senate Committee on Official Languages (the Senate Committee) received Senate approval to study Canadians’ views on modernizing the Official Languages Act (the Act). The Senate Committee’s objective is to table a final report with specific recommendations for the federal government by 2019, when Canada will mark the 50th anniversary of the adoption of the first Act. This first report explores the testimony received during the initial phase of the study.
