2011 National Household Survey

This report examines the demographic characteristics of the Holocaust Survivor population in the Montreal metropolitan area based on figures from the 2011 National Household Survey (NHS). The findings compare the characteristics of Holocaust Survivors with Jewish seniors who are not Survivors, and the total population of elderly living in the Montreal CMA. The report also identifies those Survivors who are most vulnerable (physically, economically, socially) and in need of community interventions. As the Survivor population ages and its needs increase, it is imperative to understand the unique circumstances and challenges this population faces.
